About Summer School

The world needs highly skilled and environmentally conscious, flexible, socially intelligent professionals that can solve tomorrow’s problems starting from today. Join the summer school team, become a hero who can tackle a real green challenges.

Why?

The relationship between environmental sustainability and logistics is a relationship of direct dependence. There is growing concern about air pollution, water pollution, energy consumption, urban development and waste disposal. Logistics does not have a good reputation for environmental protection, demonstrated by CO2 emissions in the value chain, use of green field sites for warehouses, calls for new transportation infrastructure building, use of packaging, etc.

What?

We have prepared two courses for you: »Theoretical Background for Solving Green Challenges« and wild off-road »Green Challenge« partly performed in real company. After solving the green challenge our heroes will be able to acquire open badges intended as a recognized proof of the learning outcomes that the learner has achieved following a short learning experience, according to transparent standards and requirements and upon assessment by an independent assessor.

The summer school program will run from 2 September to 10 September 2024, featuring workshops, discussions, site visits, and opportunities to interact with peers and experts in sustainable logistics.

How to Attend

BIP participant

Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) for students

The new Erasmus+ programme (2021-2027) introduces new Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) as alternative student mobility.
In the summer semester 2022/2023 University of Maribor, Faculty of Logistics, organizes 3 ECTS “Sustainable Logistics: Theoretical Heroes Tackle a Real Green Challenge“.

BIP combines short-term physical mobility with a virtual component, making the Erasmus mobility more flexible. Students participating in BIP can maintain their study plans at their home institution and include BIP as a parallel activity. Short-term online and physical mobility (one week in Slovenia) will constitute the only period outside their home institution. Therefore, students should credit the BIP to their study plans, as in the case of traditional Erasmus mobility.
The sending institution’s International Relations offices will provide information and support to students for physical mobility.
Students will receive support for physical mobility: 70 Eur per day. Students with fewer opportunities may receive travel support. Students who do not receive travel support can opt for green travel. In this case, they will receive a single contribution of 50 EUR as a top-up amount to the individual support and up to 4 days of additional individual support to cover travel days for a return trip, if relevant.
